Swansea

On the south west coast of Wales you can find the Welsh coastal city of Swansea. The city grew from being a major port, trading in coal and copper. Heavily bombed in the second world war most of Swansea has been rebuilt, but there are some remnants of its history to be found in pockets such as parts of the old castle in the city centre.

Birthplace of the well-known poet Dylan Thomas, the city is situated in a lovely area - to the north are the Black Mountains; the Mumbles and the absolutely beautiful Gower peninsula with its cliffs and wide open beaches to the west. Swansea itself is on a wide sweeping bay.

The Maritime Quarter is a new development with marinas, museums, art galleries, bars and restaurants giving it a very cosmopolitan flavour. Festivals of all sorts are held throughout the year also making it a place of varying cultural activity, anything from Bluegrass Music to Beach Races, or Film festival to poetry reading.

Here we try to offer a wide selection from budget to luxury hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast, B&B accommodation suitable for holidays, vacations or business travellers in Swansea or surrounding areas.
