THE EDEN PROJECT

Bodelva, St. Austell, Cornwall, PL24 2SG

A dramatic global garden based in the natural theatre of a china claypit overlooking St. Austell Bay. Nestling within it are two gigantic geodesic conservatories, the largest 200 metres long and 55 metres high - the biggest in the world!

Our home in Cornwall was once a barren landscape—formerly a clay mine devoid of soil and plants. We have transformed this large crater into a beautiful global garden, providing a unique and extraordinary experience of the natural world.

You can explore massive covered biomes, including one of the world's largest indoor rainforests, and enjoy the soothing fragrances of the Mediterranean biome. The extensive outdoor gardens feature contemporary artworks, as well as performance and storytelling. You’ll find plenty of places to rest, play, and eat, and you'll leave with inspiring ideas on how to care for the planet that supports us all.

Please see our website for further information.

This is such a lovely family day out! So many things to explore and very educational for the children :)
I particularly enjoyed the rainforest biome, I thought the views were stunning, my kids liked playing in the natural playground and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the food in the cafe

Eden Project is one of my favourite places because it's a example of how an economically deprived area can be regenerated with a large sustainable project at its heart. During my visit there were many international visitors and you can get discount on entry ticket depending on mode of transport used to travel to the project.
There are great events, learning opportunities, good food, ethical gift shop, and best of all stunning gardens including the domes with meditation and tropical plants! It’s easy to spend an entire or even two at the project because there is so much to see and do.
Accessibility is very good and there are wheelchairs available. Nearest train station is St Austell.
