The food was fresh and delicious. I had the chicken green curry which was creamy with a bit of a kick husband had the burger which was proper beef. We both had the sticky toffee pudding. Well worth a visit.
Had a lovely welcome on arrival at The Rock Inn from Ruth, one of the owners. After checking us in she showed us to our room where along with tea & fresh ground coffee, we had homemade lemon drizzle cake.
Rooms were very clean & airy each one having its own character. The use of unique wallpaper is quite apparent along with some unusual mirrors you can see throughout the Inn. Look out for the fairy doors too.
I was one of a group of 11 & we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal which was beautifully presented.
After the other guests that were only dining had left, we were able to go about our evening of paranormal investigating. This had been arranged with the owners Darren & Ruth. Because of the nature of the building we booked all the rooms so no one else would be disturbed. This is an old property, so creeks & groans are naturally part of the fabric of this building which is almost 500 years old.
Even the exterior setting gives a sense of old-world charm, with a stream & bridge. All our party enjoyed their stay & would recommend it.
Just stayed here and had a lovely time. The food reviews are not overrated. Probably one of the best pub meals we’ve had in ages. The peppercorn sauce with the steaks was a standout favourite. The wine list is really nice. The hosts are really welcoming and they run a tight ship! Our room was cute, little bit of noise from the road if you’re sensitive to such things. We had a bath tub with a shower head but you’re asked not to stand up to avoid covering the place in water. It was a quant stay but the food & drinks really made it amazing; freshly baked muffins waiting for us in the room! Highly recommend.
