The Forge Mill Needle museum tells the fascinating and sometimes gruesome story of needle making in Victorian times. The Mill is a listed building which houses original water powered machinery, and is situated in peaceful surroundings adjacent to a tranquil mill pond. Beside the Mill is a Visitor Centre which contains some of the extraordinary artefacts from the medieval Abbey which has been extensively excavated by archaeologists. The Abbey ruins are a short walk from the museum and are well worth visiting. The museum shop has a range of gifts, souvenirs and unusual needles, which also provides a mail order service. On site catering facilities available during peak periods. The museum has a lively programme of temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year, pick up a leaflet or visit the website for further information on this museum in Redditch.
Lovely place, family friendly & good little play area. No more than 3 or 4 hours worth but good for an afternoon! Well worth a trip!
Love this place. Great place to take children. They regularly run activity days and their park is fab. Museum is great, as well. Lovely staff.
A fascinating history of needle making in the Redditch area. Worth going on a day that the water wheel is working. A must visit attraction for lovers of industrial archeology.
