THE SCOTTISH STORYTELLING CENTRE

43 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1SR

The Scottish Storytelling Centre is a vibrant arts venue with a year round programme of live storytelling, theatre, music, exhibitions, workshops and family events. It's also home to two festivals: TradFest, (Spring), and the Scottish International Storytelling Festival (October). Located between Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Edinburgh's Royal Mile, the Netherbow is a gateway to Scotland's living storytelling traditions. Experience rich story heritage in a range of settings, from the gentle walk-in ambience of the street level Storytelling Court to the more formal yet still intimate auditorium of the Netherbow Theatre. Attached is John Knox House, the Mile's oldest mansion dating back to 1470, which creates a unique venue, incorporating contemporary design with medieval architecture. Learn about one of the most turbulent times in Scottish History - The Scottish Reformation - which resulted in the outbreak of civil war and the abdication of Mary, Queen of Scots.
