NEWTONMORE GOLF CLUB

Golf Course Road, Newtonmore, Inverness-shire, PH20 1AT
From £50.00 (£5 Discount using reference TouristNet when booking by telephone) Twilight From £25.00

Easy walking inland course, set beside the River Spey, which offers wonderful views from all areas of the course and a good but fair test of golf.

Founded in 1893 Newtonmore Golf Club, with its impeccably kept course, is beloved by locals and consistently thrills visitors who discover its charms and challenges for the first time.

The course was originally designed with nine holes. In 1896, the legendary St Andrews golf professional and three-time winner of early Open titles, Tom Morris, claimed that Newtonmore was one of the best inland courses he had ever played. He took a keen interest in the club and made some adjustments to the layout. Over the subsequent years, other golfing professionals made further improvements and extended the course, which was ultimately lengthened to 18 holes in 1906.

The signature hole is the tricky par 3 17th, which must be negotiated by a carefully placed shot into the well guarded green.

18 Hole course, Par 67, 5490 yards.
